De Wever is under pressure for saying an obvious truth – but the voters are with him.
In Globalist, decadent Europe, whatever you do, you can’t put the needs of your population above the political narrative of the day.
So, when Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever’s suggested that the EU should negotiate with Russia and buy their cheap energy, he sent waves across the old continent.
De Wever’s enlightened suggestion has put him in collision course with Globalists at home and abroad.
Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever:
We must normalise relations with Russia and regain access to cheap energy. That is common sense.
In private, European leaders agree with me, but no one dares to say it out loud.

Politico reported:
“Speaking to L’Echo, Belgium’s leader made the case for a deal to ‘normalize’ relations with Moscow to regain access to cheap energy, as costs spiral thanks to another war in the Middle East.
Opposition politicians reacted furiously, while parties within De Wever’s government were also quick to distance themselves. Belgium’s ruling coalition required 236 days to negotiate a detailed reform agenda, and their ongoing disagreements have repeatedly turned into public quarrels.”

What De Wever said is verboten, since the EU demands all its members to be rabidly anti-Russia, and doesn’t want a discussion on how its own energy sanctions are hurting itself.
“De Wever’s comments also come after a nationwide poll last week revealed he enjoys widespread support, with the Flemish-nationalist leader’s popularity not only at a record high in Dutch-speaking Flanders, but also growing in French-speaking Wallonia. The strong polling may help explain the prime minister’s willingness to push a politically sensitive argument.”
European officials slammed a call by Belgian Prime Minister Bart de Wever to cut a deal with Russia’s Vladimir Putin to end the war in Ukraine and resume the flow of cheap Russian energy to Europe https://t.co/06lWZF1faA

Euronews reported:
“The European Union remains divided on the issue. French President Emmanuel Macron, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán have called for direct talks with Moscow, while Poland and the three Baltic states are firmly opposed.
‘In private, European leaders agree with me, but no one dares to say it out loud. We must end the conflict in the interest of Europe, without being naïve towards Putin’, De Wever said. At the same time, we must normalize relations with Russia and regain access to cheap energy. That is common sense’, De Wever said.
[…] ‘Given that we are unable to pressure Putin by sending weapons to Ukraine, and cannot suffocate his economy without US support, only one method remains: making a deal’, he said.”
