Iran’s foreign minister announced that the Strait of Hormuz will remain open to all countries, except the United States, Israel, and their allies.
The declaration comes after President Donald Trump urged nations around the globe to send warships to the region to ensure that the critical shipping lane remains open and safe.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, Trump made it crystal clear:
“Many Countries, especially those who are affected by Iran’s attempted closure of the Hormuz Strait, will be sending War Ships, in conjunction with the United States of America, to keep the Strait open and safe.
We have already destroyed 100% of Iran’s Military capability, but it’s easy for them to send a drone or two, drop a mine, or deliver a close range missile somewhere along, or in, this Waterway, no matter how badly defeated they are.
Hopefully China, France, Japan, South Korea, the UK, and others, that are affected by this artificial constraint, will send Ships to the area so that the Hormuz Strait will no longer be a threat by a Nation that has been totally decapitated.
In the meantime, the United States will be bombing the hell out of the shoreline, and continually shooting Iranian Boats and Ships out of the water. One way or the other, we will soon get the Hormuz Strait OPEN, SAFE, and FREE!”
In an exclusive interview with MS NOW on Saturday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi claimed the waterway remains open to “neutral” countries but will be restricted to vessels belonging to what Tehran calls “enemy nations,” specifically the United States and Israel.
Abbas Araghchi: “Well, as a matter of fact, the Strait of Hormuz is open. It is only closed to the tankers and ships belonging to our enemies—those who are attacking us and their allies. Others are free to pass. Of course, many of them prefer not to because of their security concerns. This has nothing to do with us.
At the same time, there are many tankers and ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz. I can say that the strait is not closed, but it is closed only to American-Israeli ships and tankers, not to others.”

Iran’s announcement effectively amounts to a direct challenge to the United States and the international order governing maritime transit.
By claiming it can decide which countries are allowed to use one of the world’s most important shipping lanes, Tehran is attempting to weaponize global energy flows.
Trump and U.S. officials have made clear that such a move will not be tolerated.
If Iran follows through on its threat, the Strait of Hormuz, already the epicenter of global tensions, could quickly become the flashpoint for a much wider confrontation.
