Chicago’s annual snowplow naming contest has selected “Abolish ICE” as one of its top winners.
Chicago’s Streets and Sanitation Department announced the top six names chosen from public submissions and voting.
Alongside “Abolish ICE” are other entries like “Stephen Coldbert” (a nod to the anti-Trump late-night host Stephen Colbert), “Pope Frio XIV,” “The Blizzard of Oz,” “Svencoolie,” and “Caleb Chilliams” (referencing Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams).
Each of these names will be assigned to a snowplow in one of the city’s six snow districts.
As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, a Democrat with a history of extreme progressive stances, openly endorsed “Abolish ICE” back in December during an interview on MSNBC’s Politics Nation with Rev. Al Sharpton.

Johnson called ICE a “privatized force to enact terror” that causes “a great deal of harm against people.” He proudly declared the name had his “full and complete endorsement.”

The endorsement was just one small part of Johnson’s pattern of aggressive anti-ICE rhetoric and actions, which prioritizes illegal aliens over American citizens and law enforcement.
Since taking office, Johnson has repeatedly clashed with federal authorities, framing ICE operations as threats to Chicago’s communities.
The fourth annual “You Name a Snowplow” contest was meant to be a fun, lighthearted tradition for residents.
Past winners included clever, non-political names like “Mrs. O’Leary’s Plow,” “Sears Plower,” and “Ernie Snowbanks.” But this year’s results show how even innocuous city events are being hijacked for political activism.
Social media buzz from leftists flooded platforms like X with calls to vote for “Abolish ICE,” turning a community contest into a platform for anti-border rhetoric.
