President Donald Trump has officially endorsed Texas Governor Greg Abbott for re-election in 2026.
The endorsement was posted on Truth Social on Saturday afternoon.
The president wrote in full:

This endorsement comes amid Abbott’s ongoing battles against the lingering effects of the Biden-Harris administration’s open-border policies, which Trump credits Abbott with reversing through tough enforcement measures.
Abbott, a Republican stalwart, has been at the forefront of issues like school choice, energy independence, and law and order.
Trump has repeatedly supported Abbott, including in his 2018 and 2022 gubernatorial bids, where Abbott crushed challengers and secured massive victories.
As of Saturday, Trump has issued 247 endorsements for the upcoming midterm races.
