The stunning operation by US forces, capturing Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro and taking to the US and keeping him in custody to face trial, is a historical milestone for our continent.
But it is also a watershed moment in which the political forces in North, Central, and South America take sides in the great geopolitical struggle ahead of us.
There’s an obvious and sharp division between the conservative patriots supporting Donald J. Trump and the leftist Globalists denouncing it.

For the US Arrest of Maduro, we have names like the President of Argentina, Javier Milei. The libertarian celebrated the event as a ‘beautiful moment’.

President of Ecuador, Daniel Noboa, stated that ‘the time comes for every narco-Chavista criminal’.
José Antonio Kast, the President-elect of Chile, called Maduro’s detention ‘great news for the region’.
President of Paraguay, Santiago Peña described Maduro’s fall as ‘only good news’.
Nayib Bukele, President of El Salvador, mocked critics of the arrest, accusing them of defending ‘thugs’.

President of Panama, José Raúl Mulino, affirmed that respect for popular will would prevail over persecution.
Opposition leader of Canada, Pierre Poilievre, congratulated Trump on arresting the ‘narco-terrorist and socialist dictator’.
Now, of course, the socialist plague still infects many countries in the region, so there are leaders criticizing the arrest of Maduro.
Lula da Silva, President of Brazil, condemned the bombings and capture as an ‘unacceptable affront to Venezuela’s sovereignty’.
The President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, invoked the UN Charter against the use of force.
Gustavo Petro, President of Colombia, compared the event to violence in Gaza.
Leader of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, strongly condemned the US military aggression as a violation of sovereignty.
