Now, failing Macron wants to hold talks with Putin.
When we look at Emmanuel Macron’s last moves, we can see that the Franch President’s new impulse to hold talks with Russia’s Vladimir Putin as another desperate attempt to remain relevant.
As a part of the ‘coalition of the willing’, Macron was sharing the crowded European stage with UK’s Keir Starmer and Germany’s Friedrich Merz. Together, they were working to derail the peace process.

But Merz took the lead when meaningful negotiations took place days ago in Berlin – not Paris.
So, Macron had to find new ways of remaining ‘relevant’, lest he go back to minding France’s problems, where he holds a pathetic 11% popularity in the polls.
So, on Friday (19), Macron stated that it would be ‘useful’ for Europe to re-engage with Putin.
This is actually a shrewd move, in the sense that none of the other Euro-Globalists can pivot fast enough to steal this new initiative from him.
‘It’s in our interest as Europeans and Ukrainians to find the right framework to re-engage this discussion’.

And so, we’ve come to the point where Macron and Putin may be heading for bilateral talks on Ukraine.

Politico reported:
“Russian President Vladimir Putin ‘expressed readiness to engage in dialogue’ with Macron on the issue, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Sunday, according to media reports.
The Elysée responded positively. ‘It is welcome that the Kremlin has publicly agreed to this approach. We will decide in the coming days on the best way to proceed’, the French presidency said.”
‘Putin-Macron talks must be about UNDERSTANDING, not lecturing’, says Kremlin spox Peskov

“Macron said at last week’s EU summit in Brussels that it would be ‘useful’ for Europe to reach out to Putin to ensure that a peace deal in Ukraine is not negotiated solely by the United States, Russia and Ukraine. ‘I think that we Europeans and Ukrainians need to find a framework to engage a discussion in due form’, Macron told reporters as the summit wrapped up early Friday morning.
The Elysée stressed that any talks with Russia would take place in ‘full transparency’ with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and European allies, Le Monde reported.”
