Joe Biden discussed pardoning his son Hunter 6 months ago while he was publicly claiming he would not issue Hunter a pardon or commute his sentences.
On Sunday, outgoing White House resident Joe Biden issued a full and unconditional pardon to his son, Hunter Biden, absolving him of any federal crimes committed between 2014 and 2024.
Hunter was facing federal tax fraud charges in California and felony gun charges in Delaware.
Last December Hunter Biden was hit with a 9-count indictment filed in the Central District of California: Tax evasion, failure to file/pay taxes, and false/fraudulent tax return.
The charges were handed down by Special Counsel David Weiss after a sweetheart plea deal on tax charges fell apart in summer of 2023.
The indictment detailed a “four-year scheme” to avoid the $1.4+ million tax obligations he owed between 2016 and 2019 and to file false returns.
According to NBC News, Joe Biden discussed pardoning Hunter back in June when Hunter was convicted, however, he told his aides he would lie to the public about his pardon plans.
Biden lied to the public (shocker).
“The president has discussed pardoning his son with some of his closest aides at least since Hunter Biden’s conviction in June, said two people with direct knowledge of the discussions about the matter. They said it was decided at the time that he would publicly say he would not pardon his son even though doing so remained on the table.” NBC News reported.
Karine Jean-Pierre repeatedly confirmed Joe Biden would not pardon his own son.
“From a presidential perspective, is there any possibility that the president would end up pardoning his own son?” a reporter asked Karine Jean-Pierre in 2023.
“No,” KJP replied.
“I just said no!” KJP shouted as the reporter tried to ask a follow-up question.
