Puglia is crying for a rock formation.
There are many, many reasons why Italy is widely considered one of the most romantic places on earth – but one of them is no more.
One of the most breathtaking Italian landscapes has always been the Torre (tower) Sant’Andrea in Puglia, long a popular tourist spot in the south of Italy.
But the beloved Arch ‘caved in’ after several days of heavy rain and winds.
And so it happened that on the night between February 14th and 15th, right after Valentine’s Day, the magnificent Arch of Sant’Andrea in Puglia, Italy
Also known as the “Arch of Love,” was completely shattered by the storm

“Protruding into the sea, it connected a rocky stack used for cliff jumping and sunbathing. Pictures showed that the attraction’s ‘bridge’ appeared to have crumbled apart overnight, leaving a large pile of rocks on the shore.”

“As legend goes, the rock formation became known as the “love arch” after a young couple were caught in a sudden, violent tide while sharing a kiss under the bridge and died when they were swept out to sea.
Despite the tragedy, local tradition has transformed the site into a symbol of devotion. It is said that couples who swim through the arch together will have an unbreakable bond of love.”
