Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) has just confirmed massive news for election integrity patriots across the country. After weeks of tireless work, Lee announced that he had secured 50 Senators to support the motion to proceed on the House-passed version of the SAVE Act (Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act).
This is a major victory for those fighting to ensure only U.S. citizens vote in U.S. elections. But the battle isn’t over—it’s just entering the most critical phase.
With the motion to proceed now viable, Senator Lee is laying out the exact roadmap to bypass the obstructionist swamp and get this bill across the finish line. The strategy? The Talking Filibuster.
The Gateway Pundit reported Friday that Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) has officially announced her support for the SAVE Act.
With Vice President JD Vance prepared to break a tie if necessary, supporters of the legislation now say they have the numbers needed to pass the bill under a standing or “talking” filibuster scenario, marking a potential turning point in the GOP’s long-running effort to implement nationwide voter ID and proof-of-citizenship requirements for federal elections.
It can be recalled that Rep. Anna Paulina Luna revealed that Senate leadership is moving toward nuking the so-called “Zombie Filibuster” and restoring an old-school standing filibuster to advance the SAVE America Act, legislation that requires proof of U.S. citizenship to vote.
According to Luna, John Thune signaled after a meeting with Donald Trump that the Senate is prepared to bring the SAVE Act to the floor without the modern, abuse-ridden 60-vote blockade.
In a new statement, Senator Lee made it crystal clear: no more hiding in the backrooms. If Democrats want to block legislation that prevents non-citizens from voting, they are going to have to stand up and do it in front of the American people.
Sen. Mike Lee: “All right, so I’m getting a lot of questions. What’s next now that we’ve got enough votes to get past a motion to proceed to the House-passed version of the Save America Act? We’ve got to put all of our efforts… The Senate needs to invoke the talking filibuster, to enforce the talking filibuster.”
Lee is calling on every patriot to apply pressure. The days of the “silent filibuster”—where a Senator can simply send an email to block a bill—must end for this critical legislation.
“If senators want to debate this, if they want to filibuster it, make them work for it. Make them stand up, make them speak. If we do it this way, we can continue this progress. We think we can get this thing done.”
This is the only way forward. The Radical Left knows that if they are forced to stand on the Senate floor for hours and explain why they don’t want to require proof of citizenship to vote, they will lose the argument. They want this killed quietly. Mike Lee is demanding they do it loudly.
Lee concluded with a rallying cry for the base:
“There are no guarantees here, but the only shot we’ve got at this is through the talking filibuster. Thanks for fighting. Keep going. We’ll get it done.”
