An unhinged Democrat became a victim of Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent’s dry humor today after Bessent dodged his silly line of inquiry.
As PBS reported, Bessent is testifying before the House Financial Services Committee to deliver the annual report from the Financial Stability Oversight Council.
The Hill notes that this report is tasked with identifying and responding to economic risks.
Rep. Stephen Lynch grew flustered by Bessent’s refusal to play ball with a leading question on Trump and crypto. He yelled and constantly interrupted the Treasury Secretary for several seconds.
He remained unhinged even when Chairman French Hill (R-AR) tried to interject.
Near the close of Lynch’s childish episode, Bessent dropped this epic and hilarious zinger that put him in his place:
“Could you speak a little louder? I can’t hear you.”

LYNCH: Those are 100 dismissals of cases the Trump Administration executed in their first weeks in office

LYNCH: This is a serious question and a serious issue for the financial services industry…All of a sudden, these crypto cases went away.
