Tom Basile of Newsmax provided a very intelligent commentary on the message of illegal immigration on Saturday.
Basile explained that it is important to reclaim the narrative and explained that the facts are on President Donald Trump’s side. He also said it is important for the White House to have daily updates on the arrests of illegals by ICE and the kind of crimes they are accused of.
Basile explained that it is important for the White House to reclaim the narrative on illegal immigration and ICE operations. He said that full transparency and communication are very important.
“If the facts are on your side, and they are, they are the best possible weapon in the communications war. To reclaim the narrative, the White House should start immediately issuing daily releases of the arrests, existing criminal records, and new accusations against illegals detained by ICE, providing full transparency,” Basile said.
“We must be proactive, pushing out the data to the press and social media constantly,” Basile continued.
Basile also talked about the importance of reinforcing the message about the laws that ICE is carrying out have been on the books for a long time.
“They should continually remind audiences that ICE uses federal laws that have been on the books for many, many years to justify their operations. Reinforcing the message is absolutely critical,” Basile said.
“You have to remind the American public about the number of illegals let in by the Biden open border,” Basile said.
“The number arrested for crimes in the US, or having existing criminal records. The types and the numbers of those crimes and the total cost to our welfare, schools, and law enforcement of rampant illegal immigration,” Basile continued.
“The first set of data makes it clear that ICE is performing a necessary and legal enforcement of the law to remove dangerous criminals from America’s streets. The latter set informs the public of the staggering fiscal impact to taxpayers. You have to talk about it all the time,” Basile continued.
Basile also shared a statistic that the number of illegals that entered the US under the Biden regime was about the same as Ellis Island for legal immigration, from their opening to the closure of the facility.
“Roughly the same number of illegal immigrants came into the United States during the four years of the Biden administration as came in legally through Ellis Island from the opening of the facility to its closure,” Basile said.
Basile explained the importance of federal law enforcement having briefings at the local level at the places where the operations are taking place.
“Localize the strategy as well. ICE, along with the FBI, Border Patrol and others should be holding daily briefings about operations in various cities for local media. Those briefings should provide full transparency on the progress of each operation, including specifics about the criminals arrested,” Basile continued.
