In a breathtaking display of political theater, Congressional Democrats gathered on the steps of the U.S. Capitol on Tuesday evening for a candlelight vigil to mark the fifth anniversary of the January 6 Capitol event, while once again refusing to condemn years of left-wing riots, arson, and political violence that ravaged American cities with near-total impunity.
Led by House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, the group of Democrats stood in the freezing D.C. air, clutching flickering candles, and singing “God Bless America.”
Family members of law enforcement officers who defended the Capitol on January 6, 2021, joined the event.

Last year, President Trump released a statement stating that “BIDEN FBI PLACED 274 AGENTS INTO THE CROWD ON JANUARY 6.”
”If this is so, which it is, a lot of very good people will be owed big apologies,” he continued, calling for something to be done about the scandal.
This comes after the FBI admitted that 274 plainclothes agents were embedded in the crowds during the events of January 6, 2021, hundreds more than previously disclosed.
The Gateway Pundit previously reported that former Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Washington DC Mayor Muriel Bowser were both warned about the security situation prior to January 6th, and they both turned down National Guard troops at the US Capitol that day.

Chris Wray’s FBI also refused to notify the Trump administration and his cabinet secretaries that they believed there could be violence like the mass protests at the Capitol that took place that day.
Capitol Police Chief Steve Sund previously testified that he asked House and Senate security officials for permission to request that the D.C. National Guard be placed on standby in case he needed quick backup.
But they both turned him down.
For years, leaders of the “Defund the Police” Democrat Party dismissed violent street uprisings as “expressions of pain,” fundraised for rioters’ bail, and smeared Americans who demanded law and order.
Businesses were torched. Federal courthouses were attacked night after night. Journalists were assaulted. Police officers were ambushed. Not once did Democrats stage a candlelight vigil for those victims.
Instead, the party’s media allies and elected officials insisted Americans ignore the violence they could see with their own eyes until January 6 provided a singular narrative useful for perpetual outrage, fundraising, and political leverage.
Suddenly, violence became intolerable but only when it could be weaponized against political opponents.
Even today, Democrats refuse to plainly denounce Antifa violence, the 2020 riots, or the politically motivated attacks carried out by radical activists aligned with their causes. They demand “accountability” from one side while offering excuses, euphemisms, and legal cover for the other.
Americans are not fooled.
