Trump spoke to reporters aboard Air Force One as he headed back to the White House on Sunday evening after spending the Christmas holiday at Mar-a-Lago in South Florida.
President Trump shut down a fake news reporter who was trying to create a wedge between Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Rubio dominated the Sunday networks and said he is “intricately involved” in the policies moving Venezuela toward a peaceful transfer of power after the US captured Nicolas Maduro.
Marco Rubio also came out put Cuban leaders on notice after Delta Force captured Maduro.
“In some cases, one of the biggest problems Venezuelans have is they have to declare independence from Cuba,” Rubio said during a press conference from Mar-a-Lago on Saturday.
“They tried to basically colonize it from a security standpoint. So, yeah, look, if I lived in Havana and I was in the government, I’d be concerned at least a little bit,” Rubio added.
A legacy media reporter tried to stir up a little trouble and President Trump promptly shut her down.
“What you say that Marco Rubio has your ear more than the Vice President right now?” a reporter asked President Trump.
Trump shut it down.
“No! They both do. JD is very smart and doing a great job and so is Marco! I would say they’re equal,” Trump said.
The reporter continued, “It sounds like [Rubio] is the go to and you were just talking about Cuba and what could come next there.”

President Trump touched down at Joint Base Andrews Sunday evening.
Trump, Rubio, Hegseth, Bondi and others will be on The Hill on Monday and will brief high-ranking members of committees on Venezuela.
