Following a fight in Georgia during a Christmas Holiday party involving a machete, two illegals have now been placed on an immigration hold.
WRGA reports that according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) police arrived at a home in Gainesville, Georgia,
The alleged perpetrator, Carlos Hernandez Nicolas, 42, and the victim, 38-year-old Jose Turcios Garcia, reportedly got into a heated verbal argument.
HCSO said that the spat devolved into a physical altercation, and Hernandez Nicolas allegedly grabbed a machete and assaulted Turcios Garcia, severing his thumb.
WRGA reports:
The victim was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville for injuries that included an amputated left thumb. The HCSO said the machete used in the attack was later found at the scene.
Hernandez Nicolas was taken into custody and remains in jail without bond on a felony count of aggravated battery.
Turcios Garcia was released from the hospital and taken into custody and jailed on a failure to appear charge.
HCSO notes that both men were then placed under immigration holds.
An immigration hold, also commonly known as an ICE hold or immigration detainer, is a request issued by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to a federal, state, or local law enforcement agency (such as a jail or prison).
In December, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) touted the Trump Administration’s “historic year” in a news release on Friday, celebrating more than 2.5 million deportations and a 93% year-over-year reduction in illegal border crossings.
November also marked the seventh month in a row with zero illegals being released into the country. On average, 245 illegals are apprehended at the border, down from more than 5,000 per day under Joe Biden.
#EXCLUSIVE — The large majority of illegal immigrant arrests by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement are criminals who have been convicted or those with pending charges for criminal offenses, according to new data provided to the Washington Examiner.
