Mickey Lee, a contestant from Season 27 of CBS’s “Big Brother,” has passed away at the age of 35.
Lee died on Christmas, following multiple cardiac arrests stemming from complications related to the flu, her family announced in a post on Instagram.
“Mickey captured the hearts of audiences nationwide through her appearance on Big Brother, where her authenticity, strength, and spirit left a lasting impression on fans and fellow cast members alike,” Lee’s family wrote on Instagram. “She will be remembered for the joy she brought into the lives of so many and for the genuine connections she formed both on and off screen.”
Lee, originally from Jacksonville, Florida, and residing in Atlanta, was a popular player amongst viewers nationwide during her time on the reality show, which aired earlier this year.
Before her passing, Lee had been hospitalized earlier in the week due to cardiac arrests.
Lee’s family had set up a GoFundMe page to help cover medical expenses not covered by insurance, describing her condition as critical but stable at the time.
The fundraiser will now be used for funeral expenses.
As of Saturday afternoon, the fundraiser had raised over $37,500 from supporters.
The fundraising page now reads, “Originally from Jacksonville, Florida and proudly rooted in Atlanta, Georgia, Mickey was a respected and beloved experience curator and creative force within the city. She poured her heart into building moments, events, and spaces that brought people together. From intimate gatherings to large-scale experiences, Mickey had a rare gift… she made people feel seen, celebrated, and inspired. Atlanta felt her impact deeply, and those who knew her know just how much love she gave to her community.”

Mickey recently suffered a sudden and devastating medical emergency, experiencing a series of cardiac arrests. She has since transitioned, surrounded by loved ones.
Her passing has left her family, friends, and community heartbroken. Alongside the immense emotional loss, her family is now facing overwhelming financial responsibilities, including extensive medical bills and funeral expenses.
Other players from the season have weighed in, posting tributes on her Instagram page.
Rylie Jeffries wrote, “This is the worst news anyone could ever receive. I’m lost for words. Mickey will be dearly missed by so many. She was such an amazing and beautiful spirit and I’m so blessed and grateful to have gotten the opportunity to have her in my life. I love you Mick. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.”
Jimmy Heagarty added, “My heart is absolutely broken. In the house you were my friend, my first #1, and my ride or die. Outside of the house we reaffirmed our friendship, and that meant more to me than you’ll ever know. What we built wasn’t just a game relationship, it was real, and it mattered.
