US Southern Command said on X,
On Dec. 18, at the direction of @SecWar Pete Hegseth, Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted lethal kinetic strikes on two vessels operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations in international waters. Intelligence confirmed that the vessels were transiting along known narco-trafficking routes in the Eastern Pacific and were engaged in narco-trafficking operations. A total of five male narco-terrorists were killed during these actions – three in the first vessel and two in the second vessel. No U.S. military forces were harmed.
Democrats and some Republicans have attempted to stop Trump and the military from striking boats, claiming the actions are “illegal” and that US forces are murdering drug smugglers.
CBS reports, ” Democrats in both chambers of Congress have introduced resolutions seeking to curtail the strikes, but they have been voted down, most recently by House Republicans on Wednesday.”
This comes after three Venezuelan drug boats were destroyed by US forces in the Eastern Pacific on Monday.
President Trump on Monday also signed an Executive Order designating fentanyl as a weapon of mass destruction.
Then, on Tuesday, Trump ordered a complete blockade on all sanctioned oil tankers going to and from Venezuela.
And on Wednesday, the US launched another strike, killing four narcoterrorists in the Eastern Pacific.
