The Gateway Pundit reported that the sprawling Somali-linked fraud networks may be far larger and more deeply embedded than the public was ever told.
What was originally reported as a $250 million “Feeding Our Future” scandal and later acknowledged as a $1 billion fraud may now exceed $9 BILLION (and growing) according to whistleblowers and new federal investigations.
Nicholas Ballasy from Fox News Digital asked Ilhan Omar (D-MN) about her support of MEALS Act during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Act has been linked to Minnesota’s alleged $250 million “Feeding Our Future” fraud scheme. Omar doubled down and she said she had no regrets.
“Do you regret pushing for that bill, the MEALS Act? Do you think it led to the fraud?” Ballasy asked.
“Absolutely not, it did help feed kids,” Omar replied.

It may indeed have fed some kids, but it likely fed many more grifters and thieves.
Per Fox News:
Omar introduced the MEALS Act on March 11, 2020, to modify the Department of Agriculture’s food and nutrition programs to allow certain waivers on requirements for school meal programs, including those that raised federal costs during school closures related to the pandemic.
Minnesota has faced scrutiny for alleged mismanagement of federal funds accessed through these waivers, including in distributing money for the “Feeding Our Future” program, which authorities believe to be the largest fraud scheme in the history of the pandemic.
The scheme allegedly exploited the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s decision to waive many of its standard requirements for the Federal Child Nutrition Program during the pandemic, including relaxing its requirement for non-school-based distributors to participate in the program.
Although questions around the scope of the fraud have swirled for several years, Senator John Kennedy shared an internal memo from the Minnesota Attorney General’s office explainly why the state, under Tim Walz’s failed leadership, was reluctant to dig too deep.
The memo reveals that they did not stop the Somalia immigrant fraud because Democrats would lose votes
“Here’s what a fraud investigator in the Attorney General’s office said. She said, There is a perception that I’m quoting now, ‘that forcefully tackling this issue would cause political backlash from the Somali community, which is a core voting block for Democrats.’”
