Senator Dave McCormick was on “Sunday Morning Futures” with host Maria Bartiromo to discuss President Trump’s America first agenda.
“Are you expecting to be with the President on Tuesday and what are you expecting the President’s messages to be?” Bartiromo asked.
“I think the message is that we inherited a train wreck from the Biden administration. Out of control inflation, an enormous regulatory state. Real wage growth hadn’t kept up and we have made a lot of progress in the last 12 months with the President’s agenda,” McCormick said.
The Senator explained that even in light of inheriting a bad economy from Biden, that there has been progress with inflation coming down and growth in income.
“Inflation is about half of what it was on average during the Biden administration. Real wage growth exceeds the inflation numbers,” McCormick continued.
“We’ve made a lot of progress, but there is a lot more work to do, and I think the President will lay out that agenda and how all the policies that he’s put in place are gonna help working families and there is more to come. Particularly in deregulation and in energy dominance,” McCormick explained.
“What do you believe should be the most impactful from that legislation in the new year?” Bartiromo asked.
“Well first I think of the economy as a sailboat, and we got wind at our backs with the big, beautiful bill,” Senator McCormick said.
“The second thing is all this trillions of dollars of investment that have come into the country,” McCormick said.
“The final thing is deregulation. I think that is just starting to have an impact. We are gonna see, I think the biggest deregulatory agenda since Reagan’s first term in 1981,” Senator McCormick explained.
“The fact that he was able to get pharmaceutical companies to agree to take their prices down and break into that bureaucracy there. What are you expecting from the Obamacare subsidies? They are expiring in just a couple of weeks and what are you expecting in terms of the cost of healthcare in the new year?” Bartiromo asked.
“That step by the President on drugs was fantastic, and when I campaigned last year, that was one of the many things on the minds of Pennsylvanians is how outrageous those prices were,” McCormick said.
“It’s been a miserable, cataclysmic failure on all fronts,” Senator McCormick said of the Affordable Care Act.
