War Room’s Natalie Winters and Mike Davis of the Article III Project discuss the issue of birthright citizenship in regards to the upcoming ruling of the US Supreme Court.
“There is some movement on all things SCOTUS and birthright citizenship,” Winters said.
“Can you walk us through the latest?” Winters asked.
“This is one of the most crucial decisions that the Supreme Court will decide this upcoming term and it’s the issue of birthright citizenship,” Davis said.
“President Trump’s first day in office, he signed an executive order, ordering his government to not automatically grant birthright citizenship,” Davis explained.
Davis explained the intent of the 14 Amendment and birthright citizenship. He said it applied to children of slaves and explained that the intent included a loyalty to our country.
“The ratifiers wanted to guarantee birthright citizenship to the children of the freed slaves,” Davis explaining the intent of the 14th amendment.
“The children born to people subject to the jurisdiction of the United States have birthright citizenship,” Davis said.
“That means people who are loyal to the United States,” Davis continued.
Davis offered examples of what the 14th Amendment would not protect in regard to birthright citizenship which makes a good case against illegal aliens.
“For example, foreign ambassador’s kids, do not get birthright citizenship. Foreign armies’ kids would not get birthright citizenship,” Davis continued.

TGP reported this week about the US Supreme Court’s decision to take up the Constitutionality of birthright citizenship in light of President Trump’s executive order.
