As the final days of the New Jersey Governor’s race loom, a new poll shows Republican Jack Ciattarelli has wiped out Democrat Rep. Mikie Sherrill’s (D-NJ) lead, and the race is a dead heat.
The Emerson College/Pix 11/The Hill survey found 49% of voters supporting Sherrill and 48% backing Ciattarelli.

The New York Post reports:
When undecideds are pushed to say who they’re leaning toward, Sherrill’s lead increases by 1 point — 50% to 48%, the Emerson College/Pix 11/The Hill survey found.
The poll is a boost for Ciattarelli in the final days of the campaign — showing he has wiped out the 20-point lead that Sherrill boasted this summer.
The race is so close that turnout will likely decide the outcome.
Activist Scott Pressler has been on the ground in the Garden State working to make sure people get out to the polls and shared the enthusiasm swelling for Ciattarelli.

The Gateway Pundit reported that earlier this week, Ciattarelli affirmed his plans to sue Sherrill over her claim that Ciattarelli contributed to the deaths of “tens of thousands of New Jerseyans” during the opioid crisis.
During the final gubernatorial debate between the two candidates in early October, Sherrill questioned Ciattarelli’s background as a businessman and then further alleged he made millions by ‘publishing propaganda’ for the opioid industry.
Sherrill then uttered what Ciattarelli says is a ‘baseless, reckless lie,’ alleging, “I think you’re trying to divert from the fact that you killed tens of thousands of people by printing your misinformation, your propaganda.”
Late last week, Ciattarelli scored a stunning wave of endorsements, with nearly a dozen major Democrat officials now publicly backing his campaign.
Among those endorsing Ciattarelli, according to Shore News Network, are
- North Bergen Mayor and former State Senator Nick Sacco
- Dover Mayor Jim Dodd
- Garfield Mayor Everett E. Garnto Jr.
- Branchville Mayor Anthony Frank
- Branchville Councilman Jeffrey Lewis
- North Bergen Commissioner Allen Pascual
- Hudson County Commissioner Director Anthony Vainieri Jr.
- West New York Commissioner Marcos Arroyo
- Former Assemblyman Jamel Holley
- Former Newark Councilman Oscar James
- Former West New York Mayor and Assemblyman Sal Vega
- Former West New York Commissioner Alberto Rodriguez
By contrast, Sherrill has been embattled by scandals, including reports that Sherrill was blocked from walking with her graduating class at the US Naval Academy (USNA) after being caught up in a cheating scandal.
Sherrill is also under fire for accusations involving nepotism regarding two of her children being appointed to USNA in the same year.
