AbleChild Alerts Wyoming: Act Now for Psychiatric Drug Death Data Transparency Act
Republished with permission from AbleChild.
Do you live in Wyoming? AbleChild will act on behalf of our members in Wyoming, but Wyoming needs your voice now! The 26LSO-0205 bill, sponsored by Representative Hoeft, is scheduled for a hearing before the Joint Labor, Health, and Social Services Committee this Friday, October 17, 2025.
This bill is the second of its kind nationwide, following Tennessee’s leadership after the deadly mass killing at the Covenant School in Nashville. It enables Wyoming to independently collect and define violent death data, including psychiatric drug toxicology findings, moving away from reliance on World Health Organization standards and reclaiming state sovereignty over this critical data. Wyoming collecting their own citizens’ data helps protect all of Wyoming’s human rights and better forecast public health needs specific to this state.
Please take action:
• Submit your testimony online in strong support.
• Join the Zoom call during the Committee meeting to provide live public comments.
We need your help to stress the urgent need to properly detail psychiatric drug deaths and empower Wyoming with the data control necessary to save lives. Highlight that HIPAA supports such transparency where public health and human rights are concerned.
