The Justice Department said on Thursday that Lisa Cook has officially come under a criminal investigation, probing allegations of mortgage fraud.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Ed Martin, the Justice Department’s “Weaponization Czar,” is coordinating the investigation. Subpoenas have already been issued to determine whether she fraudulently obtained property loans.
Lisa Cook allegedly committed occupancy fraud (and perhaps tax fraud) on all three of her properties.
According to Federal Housing Director Bill Pulte’s first criminal referral to the DOJ, Lisa Cook committed mortgage fraud by lying on her mortgage application and falsifying bank statements when she designated her out-of-state Atlanta condo as her “primary residence”—just two weeks after taking a loan on her Ann Arbor, Michigan home, which she also claimed as her “primary residence.” The investigation centers on the Atlanta and Michigan properties.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, video evidence emerged showing that Cook’s “primary residence” in Ann Arbor was, in fact, a rental property, where a tenant confirmed, “we’re just renting.”

She got caught red handed!
Last week, Pulte submitted a second criminal referral over a condominium in Cambridge, Massachusetts, a third home that she “consistently listed” as an “investment/rental property, not a second home,” Pulte said.
Banks and lenders give more favorable loan terms and lower interest rates for second homes. Mortgage loans on investment properties have higher interest rates because they are considered high risk.
The new DOJ investigation comes amid a lawsuit from Cook over Trump’s firing of the embattled Fed Governor with cause.
“Pursuant to my authority under Article II of the Constitution of the United States and the Federal Reserve Act of 1913, as amended, you are hereby removed from your position on the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve, effective immediately,” President Trump wrote in a letter to Lisa Cook last month.
Cook’s lawsuit does not address the allegations of mortgage fraud but argues that she is “the first Black woman to sit on the Federal Reserve’s Board in its 111-year history,” a move that is sure to sway a leftwing judge in her favor.
Cook’s lawsuit was assigned to Biden-appointed Judge Jia Cobb who, like Cook, was a member of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority, which has condemned the President’s attempt to fire Lisa Cook. The President has called for the immediate recusal of the conflicted Judge.
