Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem led ICE raids in Northern Virginia Tuesday morning that targeted illegal alien gang members as part of a two-day coordinated action in the D.C. suburbs. Details of the raids were leaked by Vanity Fair Congressional reporter Pablo Manriquez who also advised targets on how to evade capture.
Noem posted a statement Tuesday saying the raids would not be deterred by leaks, “We will not be deterred by leaks. If you come to this country and break our laws, we will hunt you down. Successful enforcement operation this morning—getting MS-13 members, 18th Street gang members and perpetrators of sexual crimes off our streets.”

Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem said U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is bringing “consequences” during raids in Virginia on Tuesday.
“There is consequences,” said Noem, who was present during the pre-operation debrief. The raids were assisted by the FBI, the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

The second operation saw agents detain a man who officials said had been convicted of sexual battery. The man, they said, had been deported twice and re-entered the country illegally.

Noem was mocked by Rep. Don Beyer’s (D-VA) deputy chief of staff, Aaron Fritschner, “Secretary Noem wore a flak jacket to give herself added protection from the ongoing free weapons fire in the dangerous war zone of Arlington, Virginia” (Beyer represents the Arlington neighborhood where one the raids took place.)
