Joe Biden’s corrupt Bureau of Prisons Director Colette Peters resigned as President Trump’s Justice Department cleans house.
Colette Peters was appointed by Biden’s corrupt US Attorney General Merrick Garland in August 2022.
Deputy Director of the BOP William Lothrop replaced Colette Peters until Trump’s AG appoints a new person to run the agency.
Fox News reported:
The director of the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) has resigned from her position, while a Biden-era executive order that sought to phase out the use of private prisons has been repealed amid President Donald Trump’s efforts to implement drastic reforms to the Justice Department.
Colette Peters, who has led the BOP since August 2022, is out as director of the beleaguered agency, and she has been replaced by William Lothrop, who had been serving as deputy director of the BOP.
Peters was appointed by then-Attorney General Merrick Garland in 2022 and touted as a reform-minded outsider tasked with rebuilding an agency plagued for years by staff shortages, widespread corruption, misconduct and abuse.
Recall that Colette Peters refused to let former Congressman Matt Gaetz interview political prisoner Dr. Peter Navarro for his podcast.
While serving his 4-month sentence, Rep. Gaetz attempted to arrange an interview with Navarro but was denied because, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Navarro is “too notorious” for such a meeting to take place.
The Bureau of Prisons also discriminated against Christians and Christianity under Colette Peters’ leadership. US Senators called her out for “not allowing” various faith-based programs “to actually get into the Federal Bureau of Prisons.”
Last year Colette Peters admitted under questioning from Congressman Nehls that the Bureau of Prisons was paying for gender transitioning surgeries.
Good riddance.
