A disturbing incident has emerged from Queens, New York, where a halal food cart worker was filmed capturing a pigeon with his bare hands and placing it into a plastic bag before returning to the cart.
A commuter waiting for a bus, identified as Oriana Winchester Biersack, witnessed the worker feeding pigeons before attempting to grab one from the flock, according to the New York Post.
After a failed attempt, the worker succeeded in capturing a pigeon, which he then placed into a plastic bag and took back to the food cart.
Biersack recorded the event and expressed her disgust on social media.
“Omg, I can’t believe what I just saw!” Biersack wrote on her Instagram account.
“Please don’t buy food from this food truck! He throws food scraps to the pigeons and then he captures the pigeons to sell them! I swear I have seen crazy but this tops it all! This food truck is located in Queens, New York, at the corner of Queens Blvd and Junction Blvd, across from the Rego Park mall, right in front of TD Bank. Spread the word guys! I am beyond disgusted!” she added.
The video quickly went viral, amassing over 15 million views on Instagram alone.

“After that, I saw him grab water and he was rinsing his hand and swishing water in his mouth … He was sticking his fingers into his mouth and scrubbing his teeth with his fingers,” Biersack told The Post.
“I was shocked at what I was seeing but I didn’t record the rest,” Biersack said, adding that she reported the incident to the city’s Department of Health.
One of the cart’s workers, Muhammad Mola, mentioned that the individual involved was a ‘temporary worker from Bangladesh’ who was ‘unfamiliar with local laws and customs.’
Mola claimed that the worker was attempting to rescue a pigeon with tied-up legs.
“In our country everyone loves pigeons,” Mola told The Post.
Pigeon meat, known as “kobutor” in Bengali, is considered a delicacy in Bangladesh.
Pigeon meat is available for purchase through various online grocery platforms in Bangladesh, such as Foodpanda, Shwapno, and Chaldal.
In rural areas, pigeon farming is relatively common, and dishes featuring pigeon are often seen as a symbol of hospitality and tradition.
Following the incident, the Department of Health conducted an inspection of the cart and found “no evidence of pigeons” or related health violations.
Despite this, numerous residents filed complaints citing unsanitary conditions, and the cart received several one-star reviews referencing the viral video.
This incident comes on the heels of recent controversies involving immigrants and their interactions with animals.
In September 2024, during a presidential debate, President Donald Trump claimed that Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, were abducting and consuming pets.
He stated, “In Springfield, they’re eating the dogs. The people that came in, they’re eating the cats.”
As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, livid citizens confronted local officials during a recent City Commission meeting in Springfield, Ohio. They accused them of ignoring revolting crimes being committed by Haitian migrants against innocent animals in their town.
One resident recalled witnessing Haitians “grabbing up ducks by their necks, decapitating them, and walking off with them to eat.”
Others revealed how the massive influx of immigrants, thanks to border czar Kamala Harris, has drained Springfield’s resources and turned a once-safe city into a crime-ridden hell.
One Springfield resident even claimed she spotted a cat hanging from a branch and being carved up for food by Haitian immigrants.
