22 days separate us from January 20, 2025, the day when Donald J. Trump will be inaugurated—and a milestone starting point after which much is expected to change in global geopolitics, especially in the war in Ukraine.
As for now, Russian Federation forces continue to advance relentlessly, and, while the Joe Biden administration from hell gave Ukraine as much as 30% of the complete stockpile of ATCMS long-range missiles, the ‘wonder weapon’ failed to move the needle in the conflict—and now Kiev have very few missiles left.
Those much-touted long-range missiles provided by the US and the UK were used in strikes inside Russian territory.
The concerns that this would escalate the conflict have thankfully not fully materialized.
And now, Kiev’s missile stockpiles are running out.
The ‘celebrated’ permission for strikes at Russian territory came more than a month ago. But, after an initial flurry of attacks, Ukraine has had to slow their use.
The New York Times reported:
“Kiev is running out of missiles. It also might be running out of time: President-elect Donald J. Trump has said publicly that allowing U.S.-made long-range missiles inside Russia was a big mistake.”

The missiles have had limited effect and did not alter the war’s trajectory, according to senior NATO officials.
“In some ways, what has happened with the ATACMS — pronounced ‘attack ’ems’ — is the story of what has happened with other Western weaponry in the war. Ukraine pressed for months and even years to get Western weapons: HIMARS rocket launchers, Abrams tanks and F-16 fighter jets. But by the time the West granted access to these weapons, Ukraine had lost more ground. And no weapon has been a silver bullet.
Western officials also say Ukraine has relied too much on help from the West and hasn’t done enough to bolster its own war effort, especially in mobilizing enough troops.”
The Biden regime did not want to send Ukraine long-range ATACMS, with a range of 190 miles, because of very reasonable fears that attacks deep inside nuclear-armed Russia with US missiles would escalate the war.
To finally authorize deep strikes inside Russia, Biden used the excuse of the terrible ‘Phantom North-Koreans’, those menaces that no one has ever seen, but everyone talks about.
“At that point, Ukraine had only ‘tens of the missiles’ left — maybe about 50, the two U.S. officials said. It had no likelihood of getting more, they said. The limited American supplies had already been assigned for deployment in the Middle East and Asia. Officials in Britain, which allowed Ukraine to use its long-range Storm Shadow missiles inside Russia after Mr. Biden’s decision, also said recently that it didn’t have many more to provide.”

Since obtaining permission, Ukraine has launched half-dozen missile strikes, using at least 31 ATACMS and 14 Storm Shadows.
So, Russia finally retaliated in a major way.
“On Nov. 21, Russia launched its new hypersonic ballistic missile, the Oreshnik, or ‘hazelnut tree’, at a military facility in the Ukrainian city of Dnipro. That was seen as a warning that Russian could hit any part of Europe with the new missile, a message to Europe and America about possible consequences.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin threatened to launch the Oreshnik in the middle of Kiev if Ukraine kept firing ATACMS in Russia.
On Dec. 11 and 18, Ukraine attacked Russian territory with western missiles, but the Russian reply came with the usual – but deadly – mix of missiles and drones.
