Three boys ages 12 to 13 were shot and injured after they tried to rob a man at gunpoint at an apartment complex in Harris County, Texas, early Thursday morning.
According to law enforcement, 4 young boys ages 12 to 14 were involved in the incident.
The three young kids who were shot were rushed to a nearby hospital, one in critical condition.
The shooter told police he acted in self defense and he only shot the boys because they tried to rob him in his home at gunpoint.

Three boys were shot and injured, one of them critically, when they attempted to rob a 25-year-old man in northwest Harris County early Thursday morning, the sheriff’s office said.
A fourth boy and the man who was robbed were detained for questioning. The ages of the boys range from 12 to 13.
This happened shortly after midnight at an apartment complex on North Houston Rosslyn Road just south of Highway 249.
Investigators said four boys approached the man with pistols and attempted to rob him. The man reportedly pulled out his own pistol and shot three of them.
The three boys who were shot were taken to area hospitals. One of them suffered multiple gunshot wounds and HPD said is recovering in an ICU. The other two reportedly suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
